Rutger Bregman on how BBC censored a sentence from a public lecture he gave describing Trump as the most openly corrupt president in the American history. Yet another disgraceful low from the BBC.

I wish I didn’t have to share this. But the BBC has decided to censor my first Reith Lecture. They deleted the line in which I describe Donald Trump as “the most openly corrupt president in American...

I mean why TF is Gove a Lord now? He spent Covid plotting with Cummings and grifting his sorry arse off, having already lied himself inside out over Brexit - another reason our country is in such a mess.
He gets a peerage.
We get to pay for it all.

The last time I cheered for Scotland in the world cup was in 2010 which went pretty terribly. But I remember it distinctly because it was in a pub in Geoje, South Korea. Better luck this time!
It’s clearly a night to share @theguardian.com back page. World Cup, here we come!! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🏆

Enlightening findings from NTSB investigation on the DALI crash into Baltimore's Key Bridge. Including poor inspection practices by the operator and backup systems poorly configured (bad look for the class too). A remarkable and exemplary work from the investigators.

Sleazy NYT. 🤮 Of all the disturbing stuff that is being revealed, they chose the angle of effectively lamenting the "loss of a power scene."
The more than 20,000 emails belonging to Jeffrey Epstein that lawmakers dumped into the public domain on Wednesday are like a portal back to a lost Manhattan power scene.

Great news from Scotland! 👍 I will never forget how absolutely determined the nurses and health visitors were to help us get breastfeeding going with both kids, calling on a daily basis, lending us the pump when needed. www.thenational.scot/news/2561201...

The Ocean Cleanup guy is celebrating doubling the plastic catch prevented from entering the oceans. Fantastic.

If only he had focused on this right from the beginning instead of spending all that money and resources trying to fish the pacific great garbage patch.

Look, she has discussed this with a lawyer and has made up her strategy around 'being a victim'. She's trying to save her skin and survive *the day after* the fall of trump.

Similar in some ways to how Nazis like Albert Speer had already made up their next-day strategy as the end was approaching.

Important article on Politico describing the extent to which the US delegation went ahead of and during the IMO session on the Net Zero Framework in London. Not a mere departure from diplomatic norms and good faith, but straight to the mafia textbook.

There are some other things that are very strange about the outfit. His wearing a watch with a metal bracelet (this is too casual for even business suits, nevermind a dinner jacket). And the grey socks (dress socks should be navy or match the color of your trousers).

The outfit looks confused.

IWSA has identified year 2026 as the inflection point for the market deployment "s" curve of wind-assist propulsion systems. They justified this claiming the main barriers will have been overcome, mitigated or at least pathways identified. I no longer share this optimism.

Last week the USA and the UK added both Rosneft and Lukoil in the list of sanctioned companies. The EU has sanctioned Rosneft but not Lukoil (from which Hungary and Slovakia are buying crude and pipeline gas). In the 19th sanctions package (effective Jan 2027) they will expand the sanctions

I had to check the historical records and it does look like this was the first ever time that the EU countries did not vote as a unanimous block within the IMO. This does not reflect well on the governments of Greece, Cyprus, and Malta and on how they'll be perceived by their EU peers going forward.
Greece &Cyprus *abstained* from voting on Saudi Arabia's proposal to adjourn the session, whereas the rest of the EU countries present voted against the delay. Greece and Cyprus were in alignment with the EU position in favour of the framework back in April.🤷 www.lloydslist.com/LL1155147/IM...
