I couldn't view the Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights) this week because it has been overcast here. The East Midlands is poor for astronomy due to the excessive light pollution and the weather, so we seldom observe the annual Perseids meteor shower.

Please do not believe in astrology. It's a pseudo science. Some (gullible) people believe that it is true because they have similarities with others in their star sign. But that is only because they ignore the differences.

Some ideas for the next director general of the BBC. More cultural and scientific programmes and less unwatchable populist shows. More romantic dramas and historical period dramas. Change the stagnant appearance of BBC News. More foreign language films. Make Radio 1 listenable again.

I am now using Linux and Firefox. On my old web browser Edge I had a number of ad blocker extensions installed. After two and a half years the final total was a staggering 1.6 million ads blocked.

Yesterday morning, just after midnight, my Laryngitis intensified and I suffered violent coughing and shortness of breath that lasted for three hours. I called an ambulance which arrived at 3:30am and paramedics advised me how to manage the condition. Today there has been a slight improvement.

We have an annual tradition of coming to Worthing for the fireworks on November 5th. This year we watched them from the terrace at the dome cinema. It was pretty amazing.

It's welcome to have Zack Polanski, a real progressive, as leader of the Green Party. The Greens are my councillors for this ward in Kettering and they are often active in the local community. I have committed to Labour for life (as a former member) and give moral support to the Greens.

Today about 95% of television is unwatchable, so it's always welcome to see a documentary like Once Upon A Time In Space (BBC iPlayer). It chronicles the timeline of human space exploration from the golden age of the 1950s/1960s to the present in a really personal, human way.
