This isn't just about gaming. Many of the men most hostile to women are also not "winners" in any other manner. Especially those who complain about women being independent or not "letting" them be men. They're mad at their station in life and take it out on women who are ANY level of successful.

Higher-skilled male players, on the other hand, behaved more positively towards female players.
