I've spent the last few days adding a long poem from 1835 by William H. Coyle "Falls of #Niagara, as Seen From the Table Rock,"
In a note Coyle laments the lack of #poetry about the falls. There are 27 (of over 700) written by 1835 on the site.

T.W. Kriner has been writing 4-by-4 poems lately - 4 lines with 4 beats per line, with a pair of rhyming couplets. 3 are about Niagara Falls - "The Niagara Dead," "Niagara Gorge 1993," and "The Late Fisherman in the Niagara Gorge." niagarapoetry.ca/author-search/ and scroll down to his name.

Last summer I got an unexpected call from the Niagara CAA magazine asking if they could feature me in their "What's Your Favourite" column, which features local people talking about the area. The digital copy arrived this morning.

Earlier this year I indexed "Behind the Bricks", a history of the #MohawkInstitute. On Tuesday it was launched at the Woodland Cultural Centre, where the Institute building was reopened as a museum. A powerful book, and a powerful museum.

I support the #monarchy for the UK, but find it jarring to hear our PM say the #king will come to read the throne speech to help assert our #sovereignty. While I appreciate his support, isn't it time to get our own head of state and not rely on the mother country & its vestiges of colonialism?

At the national museum in Costa Rica. Most intriguing artefact: a cannon that was in a gunpowder/ armaments warehouse that was blown up. It was found about 100 years later in a nearby river.

Ad from Geneva Courier, Aug 16 1842 for sperm & oils in their original packaging, presumably for polishing furniture. Imagining how this works. So you call the store, they send over a guy (or a group depending on the size of the furniture?) and they provide sperm straight from the original package?
