Got back into VR games after working on one recently and man my arms are NOT having it today.

I was broke, living abroad, and trying to make ends meet when I found out I could get (some) money writing about video games.

Fast-forward a few years, someone asked me if I wanted to help them with some PR stuff and the rest, as they say, is history.
What’s the lore behind choosing your career path ?

Any friend of Claire is a friend of mine - so I guess we have two people looking for a job here!

If you have any leads, this is the time to share!
Two of my closest mates (who just had a baby) have been made redundant 😖

If anyone knows of roles pref remote (they're Ohio based but planning to move back to UK), lemme know please 💚

One works in design - so anything level / systems etc

Other is a programmer / tech producer / tech designer

Woke up to a slew of "we only do sponsored opportunities" emails after pitching 2 indie games last week and I think this warrants a note:

While I'm all for monetizing, most indie devs simply won't be able to afford smth like that. A single video is often more than a dev's whole marketing budget.

If you find yourself in France and have a chance to attend this - absolutely do it! Derek is amazing!

Forget the dip in productivity, the fact that a bunch of major platforms have suddenly become unavailable because of a single set of technical issues shows just how over-reliant the world has become on relatively fragile infrastructure.

And that should be very worrying.

steam is apparently allowing "this game had AI in it that it didn't disclose" as a valid return statement, so if you or anyone you know actually paid $70 for slop, get that money back

If you're mad about the Game Awards nominees, remember that those represent just a (very small) fraction of the whole industry.

There were over 17K games landing on Steam so far in 2025 - 10K using the "indie" tag. Get out there, try something weird, I'm sure you'll find something you'll love!

🍄 What? Another mushrooms farm update nobody's asked for? We started a new batch a few days ago and they are already growing so much! 🍄

No worries, we'll go back to our regular indie games content soon!

And after over three years of this shit, I'm finally FREE!

Oh, almost forgot: FUCK ADOBE!

Something a bit different: while I'm still working in games, I recently acquired a small farm in the Italian mountains and started experimenting with different crops.

Today, my first flush of button mushrooms was ready to harvest! 🍄

I’ve been working for 15 years as an animator and I can tell you without a doubt, the best fix I ever found for imposter syndrome is living a full life where your days and worth don’t hinge on whether or not you were a good animator today.

Spent a day putting together pitch lists, which means it's once again a good time for a reminder:

CONTENT CREATORS - ADD YOUR EMAILS TO YOUR PROFILES! I know it's a pain, but it's the only way we have to send games your way! 😭

Also keep an eye on this space! There's something coming soon!

I don't normally talk about my life online but I recently received my ADHD diagnosis and, while I'm still coming to terms with it, it explains so many of the struggles I've always considered normal for most of my adult life.

Really wish I did this a few years ago 😅

Spotlighting this because, let's be real, it's extremely cool!
Thanks! You can change the string count (1 to 200), so you can make basses as well. Here's a recent bass build:

There's a repurposed steel mill near my office that's a favourite among street artists, meaning there are often new murals popping up on the walls.

Today I took a detour and spotted this one. I feel it needs to be shared so as many people as possible can see how amazing it is.

To be fair I tried to be active on both platforms and while Twitter might be a bit better in terms of visibility for #indiedevs (that's not even always the case), the kind of interactions you get here on Bluesky are better by several orders of magnitude.

I've been helping a friend look for new roles and I'm noticing more and more companies within #gamedev are back to on-site/hybrid roles.

As someone who's been working remotely for most of their career, I genuinely wonder: why insist on this? If anything, it sounds counterproductive.

Just witnessed the most random exchange: some guy on a balcony yelling at a random passerby to leave because guy's dog was barking at them - all of this on a public road.

People need to chill
