'Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2' (2015)

Look, it's DeathBlart time so it had to be watched, but I'd argue that a Segway is a perfectly cromulent type of automobile.

This film is like a terrible and immensely comforting all enveloping wave of overcooked oatmeal, slowly suffocating you, but in a comfy way.

'The Phoenician Scheme' (2025) Visually as arresting as ever, but I can't quite shake the feeling that Wes Anderson is a bit of a one trick pony.

Felt like it was missing a reason, warmth, or heart.

Some funny parts, but I really wish he'd try something different.

I remain very into his women.

'Transformers One' (2024)
Huge fun. Great animation, a solid story, lots of rollicking action. I enjoyed this a lot, and whilst I'm not a Transformers stan, I'm really pleased that the IP has a solid entry that's not tainted by Michael Bay.
Grateful for Bumblebee being one of the featured bots.

'Locked' (2025) Solid. Very glossy, and the leads absolutely elevate it and make it an enjoyable watch not really doing much original or making any ground-breaking points about how we live in a society, but that's fine.

'Death Race' (2008) I'm a Paul W.S. Anderson defender (cough cough Event Horizon) but this commits the cardinal sin of being boring. Wanted to be Carmageddon x WipeOut but failed at both. Bah.

'Death Race 2050' (2017)

Perfect homage to the original in spirit and execution, lots of trashy fun and just oh so quotable.

I'll be re-watching this in years to come.

Ah yes, far superior.
