Twin dad and all-around nerd into politics, science and all that woke bleeding heart stuff.
I’m so glad that the Conservatives lost the election so we didn’t have to worry about a federal government that would repeal the carbon tax and try to ram through new pipelines and pass BS border security laws and let Alberta skirt the Canada Health Act and…oh.

We made it with seven minutes to spare.

I AM UNSTOPPABLE.
Tonight I have 90 minutes to pick two 3-year olds up from daycare, get them home, feed them, change them into swimsuits, get them halfway across the city to swimming lessons, hike across the parking lot, find lockers, have them use the potty and get them into the pool.

This is my Dad Everest.

When reached for comment, Justice Minister Amery stated “AI legislation could be sloppy, amateurish, and might even make shit up, so we are confident it will be indistinguishable from anything else we’ve put into law.”

I cannot emphasize strongly enough how much adding the words "with AI" to a product make me less likely to buy that product.

We are being governed by the guy you went to high school with who slept through Social 20 and knows the cheapest place to buy ivermectin.

The narrative that we are being sold that our children's safety is somehow threatened by trans people participating in all aspects of public life as their authentic selves is the exact same bullshit that was peddled about queer folks 30 years ago. It was a lie then and it's a lie now.

Honestly, I think she nailed it.

The Liberal Party of Canada is one seat closer to a majority and there’s a good chance that a Muslim democratic socialist is about to become the next mayor of America’s largest city.

Things may be bleak, but take solace in the fact that the worst person you know is having a really bad night.

Two years ago, my football team lost in the Super Bowl in overtime. I was devastated. 36 hours later, my toddler had a medical episode and ended up in the ICU for a couple days.

I still care about sports. A lot more than I should, really. But on days like today, that perspective is really helpful.

Just ate one apple, which will completely counteract any potential negative effects from the 34 mini chocolate bars I’m going to crush tonight. I love nutrition.

Have kids, so instead of getting a long, restful sleep, you can be woken up at 1:30AM by a toddler who insists that it’s time to cut her toenails.

$3812.

That’s what it cost our family for my wife to be on strike for the past 3 weeks. We’re lucky. We can afford it. But knowing that after all that time and money, the only thing that’s changed is she and 50K of her fellow teachers have fewer rights than they did before? It doesn’t feel great.

This is a @rajahmaggay.bsky.social and @gisellegeneral.bsky.social appreciation post. You are both Edmonton gems and I know you'll keep advocating for your communities, even though not on city council. ❤️

The next time someone argues that conservative parties are more fiscally responsible, please remind them that the UCP is forcing cities to spend millions more to hand count ballots just to pander to conspiracy theorists who don't understand the difference between voting machines and vote tabulators.

My 3-year old wanted to make a pudding dessert from one of her books. She came to the grocery store. She helped make the pudding. She mixed in the berries and cookie pieces. She even tried it before we were done and said it was "Yummy!".

Then dessert rolled around and she refused to eat it.

I would never recommend tying your mental health and happiness to the actions of a group of men playing a game thousands of miles away.

But sometimes, it really works out.

🚨 This is inexplicable news to share. If in Alberta and you want flu and covid shots for NEXT year (2026-2027), you have only until December 15 of THIS year to order them.

This is not incompetence. It’s a deliberate choice to prevent as many people ..

AB’s finance minister has said the province set aside $2.6 billion to cover the costs of a new 4yr teacher contract, and that the ATA’s latest offer would cost $2B over that, which works out to $1.15B/yr.

Wanna guess how much the recent income tax cut is costing the province? $1.2B/yr. Priorities.

Do you hate how clean your house is and wish you could find random half-eaten perogies strewn about? If so, I highly recommend having children.

Today is our kids’ first official day in preschool room at daycare. It also happened to be pyjama day, so we got to watch them march into their new room in adorable PJs.

I just checked the calendar. Today isn’t pyjama day.

Walking into the gym and this guy leaving says “Oh wow, you look like Andrew Tate from far away”, so I think I’m going to need to reevaluate a whole bunch of my life choices.
