The monstrous artist/writer of Serenity Rose and Shock City. Survivor of the blazing hot Character Design mines of Invader ZIM. STUFF HERE: aaronalexovich.com
Pinned
Hello new people! I'm the total horror goofball who created the SERENITY ROSE and SHOCK CITY comics. I've also drawn stuff for every iteration of Invader ZIM (show, comics, and movie). So sorry for all of that!

Comics artists who work with writers, I am doing a class for young comics writers and I would like to include some ANONYMOUS quotes from artists about things they hate getting in scripts. More "17-panel pages and cross dialogue" than "horses and bicycles". My DMS are open. SECRECY ASSURED.

Most of the drawings I've been doing this year have been on Unannounced Project or gone straight to my Patreon sketchbooks, so I'm giving a little peek behind the curtain at what patrons have been getting every month. Here are my faves from the summer.

See how he actually needs a bunch of ropes to "fly?" FRAUD.
Superman—then all of two years old—made his first appearance in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade 85 years ago, on November 21, 1940. Here's day-after coverage in the New York Times.

Still hoping to see Serenity Rose in movie form someday. Live action, all medium shots, indifferently lit, with the intricately-rendered CG city of Crestfallen sorta blurry in the background. This is the way.

Well, the inevitable is happening: I'm starting a Patreon soon! The plan is to continue reposting Serenity Rose (with commentary!), record some short videos about various ZIM designs, and draw a weekly sketch or two. Also open to suggestions! (Other than "Don't do this, Aaron, you will die!")

I agree with this UNLESS they actually commit to “live action.” All-puppet Wreck-It Ralph. 100% practical set Frozen. Real animal Zootopia, no Babe mouths.
They will eventually run out of animated movies to turn into live action movies. Then we will be free.

I like these because while eating them I imagine myself wearing a monocle AND ALSO enjoying a game of fisticuffs.

Neil Gaiman’s books were hugely important to me for decades, but the moment I learned he was a scumbag I stopped engaging with his work and have been shocked by how little I think about it now. It’s not that hard! There’s so much stuff!
A portion of every dollar spent on Harry Potter merchandise goes to anti-transgender campaigns.
