all things equal, as a purely prudential matter, there ought to be a secure state where jews are a majority. notwithstanding that fact, my desire for this to be true does not summon one up without cosigning atrocities which i oppose for reasons other than just prudential ones.

what the formulation "israel has a right to exist" is meant to stand for is "the nation of israel has a right to define its electorate such that particular people are represented and others are not," which is something so plainly ridiculous that it cannot be stated outright.

i don't believe israel has a right to exist. countries don't have rights, especially rights which are rivalrous with the persons living within their borders. the persons living within the borders of the israeli state (and the territories israel occupies) have a right to self-determination.
