The phrase itself seems to have been invented by Goebbels as a 1932 campaign slogan

Notice that Gov. Pritzker is calling out what @radleybalko.bsky.social has emphasized: Trump is *barely even bothering* to manufacture fake crises to use as pretexts to send troops into cities. It's just repression for the hell of it

I suspect these were bragging about where they got the idea from

Maybe near Sandy Hook? But the parts are not at the same scale

Somehow I happened to be reading this 1987 Supreme Court case yesterday. A synagogue had been attacked and sued the attackers for racial discrimination. The synagogue insisted that Jews were not a separate race and so had to make a novel, convoluted argument for why it was “racial” discrimination

It's because Palestinian existence itself is an existential threat to their conception of "Israel's right to exist as a Jewish state"

As far as I can tell, she's going out of her way to *only* make arguments that would fully absolve the Holocaust.

Or take cats to picnics in the park!

When people argued in 2024 that they couldn’t vote for Dems because that would make them complicit in genocide, I often responded that they were *already* materially complicit in genocide, and refusing to vote doesn’t get you out of that

This was… not very effective canvassing

Looking back, I remember a virtual consensus in 2024 that the American people (in some broad sense) had "soured on immigration" or "were incensed about the border" etc. In so many ways, politicians/campaigns tend to overreact to minor changes in discourse. It's odd that Epstein is an exception

No need to reconcile anything, they can just keep using these same tropes

Which is why it’s unsurprising that so much of the racist bile aimed at Zohran directly invokes the most Hitlerite antisemitic tropes:

If anything, it’s the racist bile directed at Zohran that most frequently directly invokes the most vile antisemitic tropes. And it’s obvious why:

For anyone wondering why the racist bile directed at Zohran so frequently invokes some of the most vile antisemitic tropes:

That particular combination has a long history

I’ve seen examples of this effort being *very* conscious

All 3 cases are filed already, btw. They don’t exactly read like a typical copyright lawsuit

Hitler could tell a very similar story! Wasn’t plausible then, and it isn’t plausible now
June 19, 2025 at 7:29 PM
Yes I’m familiar with this claim. Every single genocide is justified the same way

(And of course your inability to distinguish between “Israel” and “the Jews” is flagrantly antisemitic under every single definition)
June 19, 2025 at 7:21 PM
Historically, countries so delusionally paranoid as to honestly think they’re “in an extremely black and white existential struggle and are isolated on the world stage” do tend to kill tons of people. That does not make “peace in our time" a credible campaign slogan

Incidentally, Marek Edelman, the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising deputy commander, is really really not popular among Zionists. Surprise surprise.

As far as I can find, the only major relevant thing Truman did in 1945 was establish the Anglo-American Committee of Inquiry, which ultimately made an interesting recommendation (though I've no idea how a "Jewish state" per se fits into the "Gathering of Israel" eschatology):
