I grew up in North Carolina and spent at least fifteen years of my life living here and today; I took public transit in this state for the first time. The experience was pretty good and very affordable.

If this is the same spot, it completely lacks a sidewalk on both sides. The east side is this... and the west side is railroad tracks.

Riding the Duwamish bike path today, we found a Port Authority crew doing maintenance. They parked their trucks on the path, completely blocking it. To be sure, these vehicles looked like they only brought the crew, no tools or materials. Our car-centric society just says this is ok.
