I did not need retail therapy and fear of murder by federal agents to align so closely. This timeline could simmer down a bit.

Gotta hand it to them - I ain’t been able to think about Palestine all week.

It’s the kind of day where you have a padlock randomly stop working on you - I sort of wish it had done so while locked so I had an excuse to use my bolt cutters.

Yall - we are fractally cooked. The whole planet, at every scale. You should look up Gwar covering pink pony club, it’s basically the only thing I experienced today that was unequivocally good.

That feeling when you've spent hours analyzing client range request behaviors and finally give up and feed the basic details to gemini and it says "oh, this is default chromium behavior".

It feels like AI just told me "forget it Jake, it's chinatown" and I can't decide if that's good or bad.

Y'all, I am so angry. I spend the day working with people I trust solving hard problems, and then current events make have me googling bulk munition prices while trying to help my kid navigate out of warranty iPhone repairs. I think we should have read the terms and conditions more closely.

"without witness, without reward" is a really good principle to follow.

whether it's action, kindness, providing aid, or charity, you can do a lot of good in this world without seeking the validation that comes from the number on your post going up.
A lot of people on social media who insist you advertise every act of resistance you do aren't about actually resisting. They're about being SEEN resisting. And those are two very different things.

I was just settling into “ok, we did a regime change thing and congress is basically not doing its job at all” and now this shit? Does FMLA cover participation in a moderately organized militia? Are there KPIs we need to hit to cover being considered well organized?

Not shooting mothers on the way to pick up their kid from school IS FUCKING FREE. IT COSTS ZERO DOLLARS. Do we have to normalize terrorizing communities so we don’t do that? WTAF.

I’m very irritated that there are basically identical i2c screens with the ground and vcc pins flipped.

If only there were some sort of intentional system that could curtail unilateral actions and the accumulation of power in any single branch of government…

Liquid IV is neither liquid nor delivered intravenously. I also can't think of a better brand name than "bioavailable salt powder for your water so you drink more of it'" so I guess this is just where we're at.

Would you copy paste the potatoes? Sorry I mean redact the… sorry. Would you please pass the potatoes?

My daughter just got proposed to. It’s weird to get to be a new dad twice without attending any births.

I like advent calendars, but I hate candy. Hate is maybe a strong word, but let’s up the ante. an Ativan. A coupon to cancel one meeting that day. An edible of appropriate dosage that you’re still functional. A new phone charging cable.

I basically want a stocking I open all month along.

We have some local unhoused folks that rely on the free pantry in front of our house. One of them stopped by asking about a lighter they thought they left in the car last time we gave them a ride. They left with a brand new clipper, replacement flints, a hot meal and pecan pie

Also - the pipeline from purchasing a firearm to fill a gap in a set of tools you own to being a complete gun nut is not very long. Pray for me. (I live in the desert, my survival is not top of mind for it)

Great, LinkedIn is sending me rage bait in my email. Hard to argue with results when it’s the first time I logged in to figure out why it was sent to me in like a year.

I have a few talents, but my smoked pumpkin bisque is like… maybe the thing that justifies my existence on the planet.

I live across from some horses. Horses get horse-zoomies. At night, horse zoomies sound terrifying.

Found a dear friend passed courtesy AMEX ESTATE SERVICES. “Are you the executor of this estate?” Girl, we’re discovering there’s an estate to execute in realtime can I at least press zero for a human to give me a hug?

if you enjoy some good old fashioned "you are definitely using the wrong programing language" code, here's UTF-8 encoding in pure VCL. which is essentially supposed to be a http config language. i am especially pleased with this

UTF-8 encoding in pure VCL
Just for fun, here’s UTF-8 encoding in pure VCL. I wrote this as part of our language tests when we introduced bitwise operators a while ago, but I think it’s also a good example for passing argument...

Just to complain here as well, I think that volumetric synthetic load tests against CDNs are dumb. They never demonstrate the capacity the test is supposed to exercise.
