As someone who lived through the fear and pain of doing this with an abusive partner I agree. Just my experience, while counseling can help in some situations, it exacerbates others.
This is important and about to happen in more states.
These laws will keep survivors of abuse in their dangerous relationships, remove their options to protect themselves, and lead to more deaths and injury.
We need to ensure laws protect the most vulnerable.

This. Trump deliberately declared President Zelensky a “dictator” and blamed Ukraine for causing the war. Do not excuse or mistake this as “just joking”. As he brings Russia back to the table, he is dismantling the US from within, and coercing those nations he wants to control. Words as weapons
17. Bottom line: don't accept "just joking" as a defense or excuse for what Trump says. He's pushing ideas to his in-group, and if he's using humor to do it that doesn't mean it can be ignored -- it means he's using an effective tool to push those ideas and we should pay close attention. And object.

You need to know that several advocacy organizations doing several different forms of advocacy have been coming to the conclusion that throwing the trans community overboard to save themselves is the righteous move.
