3am – Borrowed Grooves

Absolutely banging set of old-school techno, made the way a lot of old-school techno was made.

the PITA is keeping track of all the f'ing TRS to MIDI adapters because of course no one labels them. Have to keep them organized/separated :D

Thank God for minimidi.world

Type A became the standard in 2018. 2018 lol and companies are still using B in 2025 (Arturia is another)

And among stomp box pedals which use a 1/4” connector for MIDI, there are at least 4 different types and converter boxes are needed to interface with them. So frustrating!!

It was so cool at the time!
…but I totally agree.
Sacrilege in some circles but it was never really my thing. Glad they made it though. It was a real passion project from the stories I’ve heard.

I've been using a Tesseract SweetSixteen to control a Zoia Euroburo and a Nektar controller for my Zoia pedal. It's a whole different modules once you have more controls! The SweetSixteen is also a CV>MIDI converter, so I get 16 extra CV inputs going into Zoia with that (not audio rate of course).

Yep, exactly! Using the buttons to make connections is so intuitive! I'm not a big fan of most fancy multi-function modules but Zoia feels very immediate.

We are gentle, I promise! If it's your first time performing, I guarantee you'll get a warm reception!
