Someone said they prefer Web videos and mobile apps over TV because "you can skip the ads" but IMO that doesn't account for the scumminess of the ads. TV ads are high-effort, well-produced, and pleasant, while mobile ads range from annoying to 3 teeny "x" buttons that appear after 10 seconds each

If Republicans want to talk about long-term fixes to ACA affordability, Democrats are ready.
But in the meantime, doing nothing is derelict. People will go bankrupt, people will lose insurance, and people will get sicker.

Hi, Mr. Schumer, I’m a concerned English speaker looking in from Japan. So what the fuck was your 40-day shutdown for, if you appointed 8 fall guys to end it without getting anything in return? Any way that your party base can protest this, given none of those 8 are up for re-election?
I will not support the Republican bill that’s on the Senate floor because it fails to do anything of substance to fix America’s healthcare crisis.

A fundamental mystery I’ve never understood is why so many people seem to be afraid of clowns, but virtually nobody seems to be afraid of drag queens except me, despite their similarly (and I’d argue more) exaggerated uncanny make-up and behavior.

The people were on our side. We were building momentum to help save our democracy. We could have won - the premium increase notices were just starting.
And giving in now will embolden him. Things will likely get worse.

It’s not that we didn’t want the shutdown to end, it’s the fact that millions of people suffered throughout this shutdown and it was for nothing. That’s the most upsetting part.
