Welcome all new BlueSky followers, I know some were followers from Twatter & others are new. So a brief introduction, I have been a lover of riding on 2 wheels since I learnt to ride a bicycle & further engrained when I started riding motorcycles. Due to disability I did stop cycling for a while

Welcome to the UK, where minors are blocked from accessing porn but it's perfectly legal for a grown man to shout about sissy hypno porn in a minors face.

A true mega-city for cycling? London's doing it baby. BUT... outer London... Mayoral boldness... TfL 'business as usual' approach... appropriate funding levels? London still has some real issues and a long way to go. But this is great news!
Our @psimonk.bsky.social got rather excited about news London now seeing average 1.5 million journeys cycled daily this morning: bsky.app/profile/lond....
Now here's his slightly calmer & more detailed analysis: lcc.org.uk/news/1-5-mil... covering funding case, outer v inner London & a lot more.

Or, if you prefer, Joshua Josephson. And object to the Palestinian bit? True, JJ would have likely considered himself Judean, but “Palestine” as a term for the region was in use by the Greeks 400 years before Jesus.

These stupid racists don’t seem to have clocked that the Jesus origin story is centred on a Palestinian family’s search for refuge. (To boot, Yeshua Ben Yosef was very much a practicing Jew.)

You can do everything asked for when cycling and still run the risk of being hit by some irresponsible drink driver.
Drink driving should be a decade long ban. If someone needs their licence then they shouldn't drink and drive. It's not hard.
And that twat is still the mayor.

I'm old enough to remember when the Labour party said they would be the greenest govt ever.

Now they are committing to build ever bigger airports and move motorways to accommodate them.
It's not like there is a climate emergency or anything.

Under the selected plan, the runway would be up to 3.5km long and require a new road tunnel under the airport.

Today marks the 5th anniversary of the end of the consultation on pavement parking, carried out under the last government.

We've seen no action when it comes to standing up for people walking and wheeling, who are unable to go about their daily lives safely and easily.

A few things I saw in Oxford yesterday.

Cherwell School kicking out, Oxford's most hated bollard (apparently) with really old entrance kerbs on the hump and a congestion charge sign.

Actually working, but seeing some things too.

Another car brained idiot who’s happy to promote their ignorance of the HC, contempt for other road users, driving Incompetence (clear lane to overtake on right) and using their phone whilst driving (legally or not, both cause cognitive impairment). All to whinge about a cyclist doing nothing wrong.

New petition: Stop new powers limiting repeat protests
Withdraw proposals to give police powers to restrict or ban “repeat protests". We think these measures undermine the right to free expression, peaceful assembly and democratic participation in the UK. Peaceful protest is a vital part of holding Government to account. Defend free speech.
