Do you like music and want to support democracies under threat but are short on money? One passive way you can do that is to listen to music from artists in those regions and let your ad dollars do the rest. 🙂

I put together a couple playlists for you to do exactly that.

Rock music:

After all this is over, we need to pass a law that makes social media posts from official agency accounts like this subject to perjury, equivalently to testimony before Congress. It is too destructive to the country to let them keep lying and lying and lying without any possible legal remedy.

The "it's his advisers" excuse some Republicans like to give is weird.

It's both a cop out and kinda true. I legitimately believe Kash Patel, Steven Miller, Pete Hegseth, and maybe Vance are all more passionately evil than Trump is.

But he hired all of those people partially based on those traits.

All of this is fucking senseless. Minnesota did not have an immigration problem. Trump sent his Nazi thugs here because he's racist against Somali people and to own libs like Tim Walz. Now two Minnesotans are dead and Minneapolis is on the verge of going up in flames. None. Of. This. Was. Necessary.

Didn't see anything else that could have caused this.

The “don’t take down history” crowd is awfully silent.
Signs about the history of slavery in the U.S. and the 9 people George Washington enslaved are being removed right now at the President’s House Site in Philadelphia, across from Independence Hall, months after the Trump administration threatend to do so.

How far we have not come in 250 years.

Death toll in Afghanistan when NATO answered the US’s call:
- 453 Britons
- 158 Canadians
- 89 French
- 59 Germans
- 53 Italians
- 44 Danes
- 17 Spaniards
“Stayed a little back, off the front lines “!
No one in the media will call him out over this lie or any of the others he spouts.
Trump on NATO: "I've always said, will they be there if we ever needed them? That's really the ultimate test. I'm not sure of that. We've never needed them. They'll say they sent some troops to Afghanistan and this or that. And they did. They stayed a little back, off the front lines."

I'm supporting @saraforwi.com in the Wisconsin Dem primary and you should too. It's clear that Francesco Hong is going to stay in the primary until the primary election. She has a solid base of supporters, but I do not believe, even with the advantages Dems have this year, that she would win. 🧵
I uploaded the Democratic primary campaign reports for Wisconsin governor into Claude (they were published last week) and asked it to create charts and analysis. I also asked Claude who it thought the front runner is and it replied @saraforwi.com

I really think NASA should have a standardized Solar System Explorer and the goal would be to launch one per year. Indefinitely.

Many of the worlds in the solar system are under-explored relative to the questions we have for them. And it could almost certainly be designed with flexibility in mind.

Something I truly don't think people understand is just how much we don't know.

I suspect BlueSky, neurotic people's short form blog site of choice (I mean this lovingly), is less guilty of this.

But I get sad thinking about how there's a chance humanity won't try to learn as much as it can.

In modern economies we should directly pay people who raise kids for the work they do.

Not households, people. Stay at home parents should get at least 40k per yr.

The rise of dual income households and the tradeoffs that rise forces on people when looking for a home makes it necessary.

I really genuinely view myself as someone the GOP should be able to reach.

But the same ideas that made me believe in strong foreign policy, American historical greatness, and capitalism also made me believe in climate change, diplomacy, and love of the international order.
The fact that educated people vote for Democrats shows just how biased our educational system has become.

I'd seriously think about moving to the Minneapolis area if this were to be actively discussed.
The great state of Minnesota welcomes this proposal. L'Étoile du Nord!

I increasingly think we need a rule for treatment of LLMs (and possibly language possessing animals) that reads like the following:

"If a being appears conscious, it is in everyone's best interest to treat that being as if it IS conscious."

Small conspiracy I kind of believe.

Apple purposefully allows messages between their phones and Android phones to get lost because they know iPhone users will just blame Android phones.
