this is an uncomfortable topic because it touches on multiple radioactive unquestionable taboos. but it must be said: every kink can be explored ethically. yes, even that one. it is, however, impossible to ethically teach someone to be terrified of their own desires & to judge the desires of others.

They enjoy telling others “you are superfluous”. “Your work can be done better without you”. “Your protests are meaningless”. The fact that the process of translation (or illustration, or writing…) is being reduced to valueless activity is, for them, a bonus. They’re glad.

We translate books because reading, writing, creating, sharing with others, bridging cultures and communicating are human activities that give us a reason to live. Take the human element out, and what even is the point? Why do it if humans are not enjoying the process or the product?

I'm replaying P5R with my sister, and I had forgotten how WILD the Akechi dialogues were.
