I had a client whose baby contracted HSV from a loving grandparent who just had to kiss a newborn when they had a cold sore. Baby was in ICU for 3 weeks. Babies don't have a competent immune systemq right after birth and it takes awhile to develop. Fucking respect that!

I would suggest a multipronged approach in public health. Yes, vaccines. Yes, babies are cute, but make people wash their hands before holding them and holdfast to that. And a total ban on slobbering kisses on a newborn that didn't come from your body (partner somewhat exempt but not completely).1

Just returned from 16 days in Scotland and we drove by those beautiful Kelpies. It was a wonderful trip that demonstrated the uniqueness of Scottish culture.

It's not just pay. I have a good friend who was a midwife in the mid-Lothian area for years before she and her husband moved to Canada. She worked here, loved midwifery here. Moved back to Edinburgh when she became a grandmother. Thought she would work some "bank hours" because she loved midwifery 1

9-yr-old Ukrainian Sasha Paskal has won gold&bronze medals at the All-Ukrainian Rhythmic Gymnastics Competition "Black Sea Cup"

In the summer of 2022she was seriously injured by a Russian strike and underwent a leg amputation

God, we are "watching" on the UK ESPN feed, which is up to date (as far as we can tell) but kinda lacks the thrill of the crowd. Only time weirder was watching the Raps win the LO'B while in Reykjavik on a PPV feed from NBA.
