On one hand: the monster designs are inspired, on that Kingdom Death shit. On the other hand, their body language is incomprehensible; most attacks are "the boss flails around and hits everything around it at random." The relatively samey bodyplans in MH were for readability, not just asset reuse

Much like its siblings God Eater & Toukiden, Soul Sacrifice mistakes Monster Hunter's "slow, clunky" controls for a flaw it must fix; like watching soccer and going "why don't they just use their hands?"

Unlike GE & Toukiden, every element of SS's presentation is Completely Insane. A+ on that front

Your synergies are six patches out of date, stacking Auspice isn't a sure win anymore, when you cleared Floor 2 and didn't get offered Perspicacity after three rerolls your run was already bricked. I'm not sure how I feel about that, hm... part of what makes the Apostle such a potent symbol-entity is how the ones we see were all born from a moment of despair/weakness/grief, that pushed someone to do something unforgivable. The guilt feels like as important an ingredient as the loss ya know?
