Blood of My Blood is a visually striking graphic novella where body horror and magical realism meet family secrets. The story digs into the dark “what if…” in the back of your mind when your body is mad at you, with an ending you won’t see coming.

We often blow our bodily ailments out of proportion, in jest or in seriousness. What if the truth is stranger than our fiction?

When Zoe’s childhood nosebleeds suddenly return with disturbing persistence, she turns to the one person who could always stop the bleeding—Mom. But back at home, she discovers that Mom has been hiding something from Zoe her whole life. Why have Zoe’s nosebleeds come back now? And what if this time Mom can’t make the bleeding stop?

It's funny looking at the past's vision of the future. One day, people will look back at our movies of today and chuckle.

This was fun to draw/paint. The Space Needle and Monorail are somehow still iconic in their retro futuristic glory.

Ballard's farmers market is a busy attraction every Sunday. This was done in the afternoon, as the market was clearing out, which is why I had a little more space to see down the avenue and draw.

Seeing the Bill Watterson originals full of pencil lines of stuff that didn’t work, scuffs the eraser didn’t pick up, white out galore and more was something I needed to see to remind myself that nothing is perfect the first go and tweaks need to be made and you’re allowed to try again.
