Another vacation painting - we went to Mt. Rainier and it was pretty spectacular. Lots of wildflowers blooming.
Painting of Mt. Rainier with wildflowers in the foreground. Watercolor and gouache.
Combination of both! My travel palette is mostly watercolor with a few pans of gouache, but I mix and match them indiscriminately.

Yes, thank you for the reminder! I spaced out on the July art walk but will be there for this one!!
I feel like I’m constantly in a state of “getting back into making art” or trying to make it easier to sit down and make something, so I have been making tiny paintings in a tiny watercolor sketchbook - this one based off a reference from line-of-action.com
Small gouache painting of a snowy mountain with hills and a green tree in the foreground.
Congratulations!! Way to go!
Congrats!! So much work but I’m sure it will be beautiful!
I’m taking a haiku comics class, and we had an assignment to make a non-traditional haiku (not about seasons or nature, but about pop culture, supernatural creatures, fairy tales, etc.) Here’s mine:

deep in the ocean
she finds herself dreaming of
the human world

#haikucomic
Haiku comic with an illustration of a mermaid with red hair holding a fork. The text reads, “deep in the ocean/she finds herself dreaming of/the human world”
Leaf miners, pick off the affected leaves, check the remaining leaves for eggs, usually on the underside of the leaves. You can also use a row cover to prevent them from laying eggs (it’s some sort of flying insect.) I’ve had success being diligent about getting the eggs off (I just scrape them off)
Happy KidLitArtPostcard day!

I'm Liz, I'm an author/illustrator and I enjoy illustrating quirky animals in watercolor and gouache.

Today it’s gray and raining but here’s a haiku comic about painting outside.
Haiku comic: spring green on my brush/ sunlight sparkling through new leaves/ dancing on the pond
Painting from a forest-y bit of the city park, looking towards a sunny bit of lawn. It smelled really nice here, very woodsy.
