No Kings protest in The Woodlands, Texas (north suburban Houston). This is the first such protest to occur in the community. I overheard a number of folks telling others that they had never attended such an event before but had gotten to the point of feeling they needed to do something.

Happy spooky season from the ~90 or so vultures who live next door to my mother in NE Ohio

Normally it’s a pretty even mix of Black and Turkey Vultures, but today it’s about 75 Black and 15 Turkey (a count that eBird just hates, as Black are still relatively unusual in this part of the state)

Cattle pasture with a bunch of large black birds either on the ground or on fence posts. Most are Black Vultures, dark black birds with gray heads. There are a few Turkey Vultures, larger brown birds with gray or red heads. There are more Turkey on the posts than on the ground. There are at least 30 in this photo.

I feel like telling people not to go to a No Kings protest is counterproductive. Because if they’re willing to turn out for the protest you think is too nice, it will make them more willing to turn out for the protests you like. The point is to show mass dissent, and we shouldn’t shame that.
