As expected, COP 30 was another massive let-down. Every year I try to tell myself, perhaps this year will be different, but after 29 failed COPs I really shouldn't be surprised that we've had another one. It's time to completely change the COP system, firstly by excluding the oil lobbyists, secondly by removing the need for 100% agreement, thirdly by ensuring decision-making is based on the science, not the opinions of those attending and fourthly by giving those most in danger from climate catastrophe, especially indigenous people, far more time at the microphone.

The owner of Lidl is a Zionist and a huge investor in Israeli tech companies. Marks and Spencer stock various goods grown on stolen Palestinian land such as dates and have long supported Zionism.

By Darcy White Over the course of my life, I’ve had several stark wakeup calls about the profound loss of biodiversity we are facing. One was about 25 years ago whilst on holiday on the remote Llyn Peninsular in north Wales. Another was this summer whilst holidaying in Dumfries and Galloway, on the south-west coast of Scotland. In each place I experienced what felt like a throwback to my childhood in rural Suffolk during the late 1960s and 70s, amidst an abundance of wildlife.

Gaza-born Sheffield resident Musheir El Farra will be among those reading the names of the children, all of whom have been killed since Israel’s military began its bombardment of Gaza in October 2023.
