3 things I want to see for instant followback:
1) Your pronouns. Indicates you respect the pronouns of others.
2) Masks. I want to see that you give a shit about not spreading an ongoing pandemic and thus TRULY care about intersectional values.
3) ALT tags. You can set an autonag for it. No excuses.
Had a severe PEM yesterday that's still there today, but apparently I'm slightly more literate today because I am now seeing all of the errors I made in the ALTs for yesterday's @spacedocmom.bsky.social message.

Sigh.

Also just tried three times to spell "yesterday" as "yeasterday".

Siiiighhhh.

Health care workers who blame patients for the worker's own negligence or mistakes shouldn't be allowed to continue in practice. I'd absolutely boot any staff out of my sickbay who pulled that. 🖤💙😷🥄

Those who pick at the edges of your boundaries, seeking a sneaky way in, are precisely the people whom your boundaries are there to defend against. Do not engage with them because anyone behaving like that will never respect or heed you. Warp away before they find a way in.

If you want free or more affordable books, don't steal them - advocate for universal basic income so authors can write the damn things without having to work a day job 8-10 hours a day or subsist on Venmo money.
People who pirate books: “I just think art and literature should be FREE to everyone!”

Yes, I too would love to live in a world where art is accessible freely to all and yet artists are paid a living wage, but as this magical wagical pixie wixie land does not exist, please don’t steal from us.

You don't have to declare a gender in my sickbay unless you feel it's relevant, your gender identity needn't be certain (it's okay to still be finding yourself!), and no gender-based harassment of any kind will be permitted for any reason. Sickbays should be safe spaces! 🖤💙😷🥄🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍🌈

Accept that it is impossible for you satisfy everybody completely. Between conflicting needs and some people not wishing to be satisfied, even the best efforts with the best of intentions cannot make everybody happy. Just do the right thing as often as you can.

Your body size/shape/type/color/decorations/etc should have no bearing on the health care you receive. It is awful how many doctors in your era don't seem to understand this. 🖤💙😷🥄

I have posted about this before, but...

Researchers at Pitt School of Public Health (with NIH funding) developed Project Tycho where they digitized reportable disease data from across the country going back to ~1900.

The people who scold you for calling out bigotry are quite likely bigots themselves who are afraid they'll slip up and meet your entirely legitimate scorn next. I'm so proud of how you refuse to accept such nonsense. Keep up the good work.

Everyone deserves to exist in safety with their basic needs met. That includes you. Those who impede you from accessing any of that in any way are not your friends.

You're allowed to ignore unsolicited/ignorant medical advice, even from a doctor. If you go in to be seen about your injured finger and get a lecture about weight loss, you're allowed to ignore that because it's nonsense. 🖤💙😷🥄

There will always be people who tell you that you shouldn't eat or love or live in this or that way, and usually they're wrong, so you may as well eat and love and live the way that works for you and your health needs and ignore those people. 🖤💙😷🥄
