I’ve been wearing hearing aids for over 30 years and I still have to do dumb things like getting a referral to an audiologist and paying 100% of the cost of hearing aids because insurance is a scam

True. I think Neon excels at trailers because they give you just enough to entice you. They lead more with appeal to emotions rather than the typical way of marketing the film, which is showing the best scenes so that casual moviegoers can see the same scenes in theaters and feel satisfied

I partly blame Neon for being so damn good at trailers. I agree with you overall though. It’s unfair to put movies on a hype pedestal because then half the people who see it are like “what’s the big deal?”

Shelby Oaks is great and you should see it in theaters, but it’s not going to save horror or anything. I sense this one is getting the hyped-so-much-it’s-going-to-disappoint-you treatment. Just see the movie

"Hampered by a micro budget" is a really shitty way to review a film WITH a micro budget. You wouldn't walk into someone's house and say "it's really good but obviously hampered because you're poor."
