I think you're right. Growing up people would assume things like I lost my hearing because I listened to music too loudly, but I was just born this way
worstmillennial.bsky.social
That's so obnoxious. Why are people like this?

I’ve been wearing hearing aids for over 30 years and I still have to do dumb things like getting a referral to an audiologist and paying 100% of the cost of hearing aids because insurance is a scam

Indy is such a good actor that he could be the subject of a doc with zero dialogue and I’d still figure out what’s happening

On this day in queer history: Oct 14, 1977

During a live TV appearance in Iowa, anti-gay activist Anita Bryant was hit with a pie in protest of her “Save Our Children” campaign. A sweet moment of queer resistance.

That’s the thing right there! I wasn’t nuts about Him, but even that one I told people to go see in theaters because it took a huge risk and that’s a great thing

True. I think Neon excels at trailers because they give you just enough to entice you. They lead more with appeal to emotions rather than the typical way of marketing the film, which is showing the best scenes so that casual moviegoers can see the same scenes in theaters and feel satisfied
worstmillennial.bsky.social
I partly blame Neon for being so damn good at trailers. I agree with you overall though. It’s unfair to put movies on a hype pedestal because then half the people who see it are like “what’s the big deal?”

Shelby Oaks is great and you should see it in theaters, but it’s not going to save horror or anything. I sense this one is getting the hyped-so-much-it’s-going-to-disappoint-you treatment. Just see the movie

Kudos to NWA wrestler, Max the Impaler, for their portrayal of Dolly. It's one of the creepiest horror villain performances I've seen in a while

Critics who say "hampered by a micro budget" should only be allowed to review major studio films

"Hampered by a micro budget" is a really shitty way to review a film WITH a micro budget. You wouldn't walk into someone's house and say "it's really good but obviously hampered because you're poor."

Crumb Catcher was such a pleasant surprise. It's one of those movies I turned on before bed and next thing I knew, the movie was over and I barely blinked

Nextdoor is full of olds with zero self-regulation that don't understand how threads work and type racist things in all caps. I think I've outstayed my welcome there
