I've been following it due to how it's been seen out here in Japan. The best way to see it is - "It's complicated". I've actually never seen it so vocally disliked though. The leak that happened, along with Digimon coming out,, seems to of set people off in a "This isnt' acceptable any more" way.

The budget for your average game is 50-100million USD if it's on the AA-AAA side, some go as high as 500 million.

Pokemon games are made for 13-18million. They are effectively BUDGET games.

No, it isn't tiredness. It's Gamefreak and TPC being cheap.

Gonna say it again - Furries legit are what moved a loot of art forward, and kinks too. Like is said in this video - When you can't get the kink you want...you draw it yourself. This goes for all kinks really. Spice of life sometimes requires you do it yourself, you know?

It's throwing money, and words at a prompt and hitting redo till you get something not shit. That's not anything but a waste of actual energy. AI is for suckers.

You get bosses, but no dedicated game outside of indie. I know someone that got into the kink via overlord. Not so much the boss themselves but the concept hit them like bricks.

ive been cursed with some odd likes myself, but kinks rarely get good games. Sadly.

It's pretty amazing how a single thing splinters into a million, and adults will get harder to market to. Being a dev taught me that where i work. Sometimes, marketing is just impossible.

My old boss taught me a funny lesson using the idea of kinks as business.

When you're young, you're just happy to know what you're into exists.
When you're older. You start creating splinters. Exact things you want, and suddenly even in the same genre - it doesn't interest you.

It's the "Down, not up" theory in business.

You can have adults drop down into child media and marketing, but you can't have kids scale up into adult. So you're market is always bigger for kids, because it isn't kids.

It's also, the worst business too aim for because it makes everything BORING :/

The US government heading here seems to be a thing that's drawn the X side folks to move over too. That and the doxing ring that got taken down, and reupped by Musk. So expect it. Bluesky isn't as blue right now. It's got red in it.
