Even if I think some parts of the story can land a bit weird in this one, the combat in this game is soooooo much better than the first one that ultimately I don't think I could ever go back and play it

(anyway, yes I fixed it, in large part because i realized that bringing an NPC with Signature Heal and 23 (!) spell slots along to a dungeon crawl was gonna make it feel really weird and inconsequential. But it's just funny to me how much APs are improved with just a *little* bit of playtesting)

yeah, there's probably no Law of the Universe saying that a Primal Sorc *can't* be a worshipper of Razmir. Maybe he's very unique like that

But if you're writing a story, you want elements like that to... be consistent? to represent the lore of the setting and not be complete flavour bends? idk lol

i didn't really hit me until after I ran 1 session with this guy how weird that is! he has sorcerer casting, INCLUDING Signature Heal (!!)

which not only (a) *massively* shifts the power of him as a GMPC, as the party now has access to a pocket healer and (b) completely fails Razmiran lore I think?

Razmiri lore: none of these people are really clerics, it's a fake religion and they're all basically wizards siphoning power from some guy

Spore War: introduces a Razmiran priest NPC, gives him 0 of those mechanics, and he's just a full caster Primal Sorcerer

well there is good news, Hades 2 has way more ranged and caster builds and is probably overall a bit less about twitch-reflexes and button spam

Underworld 4 and Surface 3-4, especially, have some super interesting fast dodges, but if you just get a build that spams Omega moves, it's like you're playing half the fight in bullet time lol

while I generally do like all the bosses in Hades 2 (some that I didn't like, like Rivals Surface 1, have even grown on me as I practice and understand the mechanics), i do think basically all of them would be like 250% more interesting to fight if this card didn't exist lol

Hades 2 Arcana: Eternity. While you channel you omega moves, everything moves slower for 1.2 seconds.

it's a cool technique! i would start (maybe even have started?) an adventure with it. but it feels so out of place here, because it's in a Book 4, AND it *literally* only lasts for one scene before the timeline catches up. So it's like we literally just switched two scenes, from 123456 to 213456
