The youth will never understand that you used to have to pay for compilers

I think there's also a content issue.

The story covered in season one was basically How Saitama Got His Groove Back, and going on means treating joke characters seriously, which is much less entertaining

I think that ship sailed during COVID.

Anyway I'm amazed at the restraint shown by them. The placeholder doesn't even have the IANA logo, let alone ads or even Hosted By links
womancorn.bsky.social
I'll be honest, I didn't click through because I already knew they were reserved by IANA for use in documentation, so I thought you just didn't understand what I was saying and did not expect that the link would actually address it

Right, so when I type example.com into my browser, does it go to an actual server or not?

I mean, there are definitely left wing groups that call themselves antifa.

Maybe right wingers glommed onto it, but they sure didn't invent it. Just like "woke".
womancorn.bsky.social
I think that's actually provided by your browser, so it may vary anyhow
womancorn.bsky.social
Oh, sure. But they'd better be on the ball or they'll have weird behavior that they have to support for backwards compatibility reasons.

Node, Typescript, and Webpack all had problems with module interop in the past, so it's a solid guess that bundlers will have trouble again

While providing tech support for my FIL:

FIL: What's that screen?

ME: The terminal. You should never use it.

FIL: Never?

ME: So you know how I'm allowed to watch you open the electrical panel and swap out breakers, but I'm not allowed to ever open up it myself?

FIL: Ah! I understand, thank you.

Would that even work?

'use client' is some kind of proprietary react magic, IIRC. Who knows how it's implemented?

Suppose you accidentally walked in on a bunch of lizard people with their human disguises half off.

How would you go about telling anyone about this without being dismissed as either joking or insane?

It wouldn't start being a *good* law if it was 13, but it would at least be understandable as eyeroll worthy reactionary policy. 18 is just like, what the actual fuck you can drive a car and have sex but not download an app to your phone?

The problem with reading between the lines is that sometimes you're reading implications that the author absolutely wanted you to get, and sometimes you're just reflecting your own prejudices back at yourself

Wow. This seems like a giant own goal then

“All this started over a lost sponsorship”

That was me. I rescinded a six-figure grant because the org invited DHH, a white supremacist, to speak. We cannot tolerate hateful people as leaders in our communities.
jakelazaroff.com
show this to anyone else you know who also assumed DHH was just a normal conservative dude rather than a raging white supremacist lunatic

"Perfectly cope shaped" is such a red flag to me

Well. Better flee to Europe then

I mean, they were unable to successfully communicate that focus to the voters, who found some weak sloganeering from the Rs more convincing than the D's talking points.

So either they need to go back to communication school, or you can't actually drop positions that quickly

I hate it when a "protocol" requires you to stand up a persistent endpoint on a DNS resolvable host

I recommend @temujin9.t9productions.com 's mute list to just erase the worst people on this site from view.

Just listened to a podcast interview with the guy who... decoded the Herculaneum scrolls.

He found out about them and was like, <oh. I can do this.> Not very collective at all, really
womancorn.bsky.social
Are there? And did they?

I would expect that voters who care a lot about trans issues are already likely to vote, and vote Democratic.

I think the Democrats did not effectively distance themselves from trans issues in 2024
womancorn.bsky.social
I think this is a bad model of the swing voter.

Yeah, the people you've described don't exist, but there are people who might vote for Democrats if they focus on issues that affect them directly, and might vote for Republicans if they do
