I work in an exhibit with live spiders, and I think I have lost count how often people misheard "green lynx spider" as "green link spider"...

In our butterfly exhibit at work, the butterfly guide shows pinned/dead butterflies for IDs and people don't recognize them as the live butterflies in our exhibit because the "wing shape is different"! I have to explain the dead butterfly thing a lot
