Husband, father. Interests: RPGs, history, books, food. Hates getting old but it's better than the alternative.

Making my way through the Series Replay article in the ASL Starter Kit magazine and it is just so damn good. Learning so much but also loving the IJADG ethos.

Top marks to both players and @multimanpublishing.bsky.social
Trust me. I so wanted to love this game (and concept - I also bought Colonial Twilight). But having just finished a play though on VASSAL Discord I’m so disappointed.

I don’t think it’s necessarily the system. It’s me. I just love hexes and counters.

Couple moved in next door. Old bloke lived there before had a beautiful garden. He spent every day in it. New guy ripped out everything & put fake grass in. So I've planted trees next to the boundary that will fill his lawn with dead leaves in the autumn. This one's for you Alf
Just did a major cull of Followed Accounts, apologies if I’ve deleted yours in error.

Was finding BlueSky (which I had major hopes for) just too rammed with random and pretty puerile posts. One or two I can live with but when my feed is full of them it’s time for action.
Just ordered the first edition of Basic Training from @multimanpublishing.bsky.social

Looking forward to getting back into ASLSK after a little break.

I try to steer away from controversial stuff but for anyone who hates landed privilege here's a link to a peaceful trespass on the land of a classic 'anonymous landowner'. Come along if you can.

Cartagena, Spain. Possibly one of the most unsung cities from antiquity, so worth a visit!
USA - they got the guns but you got the numbers.
A coward hiding behind a mask. I’m sorry George, but the USA is so screwed right now that’s it’s difficult to see a way back to the rule of law.
Missed this previously, thanks for the repost 😁
This is what I come here for Simon. Would never have spotted ‘Lost in the Garden’ otherwise.
Outstanding, and very inspiring. I tip my hat to you 😀
The best SW film by a country mile IMHO.

I've enjoyed working on the Ironsworn Reference Guide update, but the bestest part of the project is seeing the things I cobbled together in 2018 reimagined by an actual artist. Such as the shiny new map of the Ironlands by @damienmammoliti.bsky.social.
Every empire ends, but Trump has greatly hastened the end of US hegemony. What’s really surprising though is that it’s all been done with complicity of a majority of the American electorate.
I thought this was for real before I saw the pics… The world is scary these days!

On Sunday morning I’ll be walking round my local cemetery in West Norwood. When I see or hear a bird I’ll shout ‘BIRD!’
For some reason this is being advertised as a ‘guided bird walk’. You should come along. It’s free, but you have to register.

Didn’t really get into his music until a read Barnes’s ‘The Music of Time’. A brilliant book that introduced me to the complexity of the man and his music.
It’s a tradition in our household.
Anyone else noticing an huge increase in bot account follows recently?
