Spare a thought for poor old Sir Kid Starver, getting no praise at all for his efforts in prolonging the prospect of a ceasefire throughout 2025. You would think all the military reconnaissance help in flattening Gaza given to Israel would've been acknowledged with at least a medal of sorts.

The EU Referendum was advisory too but it suited those in charge to spout endlessly about 'Will of the People'. If we ever get another Scottish Ref, we must be prepared to lead that chorus, should we win.

In UK, ultimate legal authority lies with Parliament, not with Referendums, meaning no Ref result can, by itself, change the law, only Parliament can do that. Being 'advisory' means those who grudge giving their consent to them in the first place can ignore the result if it suits them to do so.

Come Independence, its a whole now political ball game, reinvented fit for purpose Scottish parties, even the LIb Dems might be relevant, Labour too if they ditch the Branch Office constraint. I'm not sure a Referendum is the answer as like the last one it will be just 'Advisory', likely ignored.

I was part of that but saw no advantage in staying a member, will continue to vote for them. I was the only member of my family of 5 voters to join. All five of us will be voting SNP 1 Green 2

Let's not forget Israel's Hannibal Directive killed hundreds of their own and there was the instance where the IDF shot release hostages walking towards them waving white flags. Someone I know who worked in Gaza in the last year said they reckoned the IDF as a military force were dreadfully inept!
