The Labour right wing in all their glory, from Mandelson to McSweeney. The staffers, the lobbyists, the revolving door. See how they lobby for privateer corporations, cash in via disaster capitalism etc 🥀

She was eventually let go, per David Goodhue of the Miami Herald, who also took this footage:

A nice bit of How It Works here. All like this: string out the process as long as possible until the last second, then use a loophole to escape consequences.

The diplomatic "achievement" of the ceasefire was to recalibrate the tempo of the genocide sufficiently to get it off the front pages and the news bulletins, thus alleviating the political pressure on Israel's western accomplices.

Mortgage repossession orders in England and Wales reached 10,853 in 2024-5 - the highest number in five years.

Tragedy for thousands - years of austerity, real wage cuts, insecure jobs, over-lending, hike in house prices by builders and estate agents.

Bankers profit from repossessions.
Stories from court as home repossessions hit five-year high
BBC journalists in the East of England and London attended various county courts as mortgage-holders and renters appeared in front of judges.

April 2031 Income Tax Threshold £12,570

Should be about £16,970.

Meaning every person earning £16,970 or more is paying £1,231.86 more in tax.

Threshold freezes are a tax on the poorest.

I think one thing that needs to be said in the argument over judges v juries is that juries are far, far more diversely drawn than the judiciary. Juries will usually include, for example, at least one person under 30. The judiciary won't.

I don't know what effect that has, but it's a difference.
