With every day that passes, as the discourse ramps up & the lyrics from the past few albums settle into place…all of this is starting to feel very real.

We have been talking about her burning it all down for years now. Watching it happen feels scary, but I am so excited for her and whatever is next

It’s brave as hell. We can comment on the harm done along the way but what she is doing is the most radical act of self-love I’ve ever seen.

And if I say, this is the whole point of the fate of Ophelia? Ophelia had no agency her entire life was controlled by men and by society. Scholars will argue that her taking her own life was her reclaiming her agency. It was the only decision she was able to make for herself.

She has an end goal in mind and we can guess at it, but my assumption is that no matter WHAT that goal is, part of it will be to make it clear to the world at large that she is has agency and is not to be projected upon any longer—and if that means sacrificing her career? So be it.
