I know a few friends who really need new computers and parts, but they cannot begin to afford the insane cost of some of the pieces.
We are basically paying for AI companies to destroy the planet and attempt to replace people in work, also stealing art and other media. It is very much antihuman.

AI is absolute garbage, the only people this helps is the rich, AI will cause consumer products, electricity and water prices to skyrocket. Data centres are hurting communities & consumers.

I lived thru the end of public smoking. Early in my career I presented to city councils who were smoking, in front of audiences who were smoking.
Smoking in restaurants, airplanes, hospitals…
All of that seems insane now, but it was very controversial when we DID change it.
We CAN change things.
