A #colourful #BirdOfTheDay - a trinidadian motmot sitting on a fence (waiting for passing lizards)

This motmot was seen in Tobago. It would frequently visit the garden where we were staying, hoping for food (lizards). One day a golden tegu passed through - and the motmot straffed it unsuccessfully, beak first (the feet on a motmot are pitiful). Rainbow colouired from head down to the tip of its tail.

Rock wrens aren't flashy birds, but I've found them to be extremely photogenic.

Here's one I my favorite captures. (I have a 30" metal print of this one hanging in my living room.)
