Just me, eternally screaming about Just Transition fails.

Instead of handing cash to private firms for itty bitty job promises, buy the damn firm, use it to support community/smaller projects, use it as a training ground for high-skilled jobs, expand and re-invest.

NEW: Without USAID funding to help buy food for refugees, the World Food Program rushed to prioritize families based on need, determining that only half the population would get food.

Refugees learned which half they were in from a number stamped on the back of their ration card.

Whatever our differences on the left, we need to unite in opposing the hard-right and far-right.

Minor differences in policy or strategy, and of course egos, cannot get in the way of delivering a fair, free, and secure society for us all.
Hard-right and far-right politicians now lead the polls in France, the U.K. and even Germany.

Here’s how the power of populist hardliners differs across European countries 👇

Iceland has joined Spain, Ireland, Slovenia and the Netherlands in taking a principled stance. It’s time the UK did the same.

Eurovision is an important cultural event. Russia has been excluded for its war crimes; Israel should be excluded on the same grounds.

I spoke in Parliament today to challenge the misinformation from those claiming this tribunal as a 'win' for the anti-trans agenda.

In fact it found Ms Peggie harassed a colleague for being trans, and it dismissed almost all her claims.

It also found that trans segregation is not supported in law.
We've written & published a short summary statement regarding the Sandie Peggie V NHS Fife Health Board employment tribunal case & the judgment given yesterday. Much of the media coverage has missed key information, the most important aspect being that all claims against Dr Beth Upton were dismissed

If some had paid more attention to communities suffering from insecurity (economic, social, etc.), we wouldn’t be here.
