As the lights go out all over the world, be a shining beacon

It is important everyone knows there is still good out there, and where to find it

The darker it gets, the more you shine

Love hearing things like this about my food aversion acceptance cookbook and guide COLOR TASTE TEXTURE 🥹💜
I have lost track of how many people i have suggested it to, but almost everyone i recommended to has gotten it. Of the folks that got it, *all* of them sing its praises. They've been support workers, parents of ND kidlets, & several adult ND folks.
Thank you so much for making it 🖤

Flashback to my first Thanksgiving in Aotearoa, one year ago today.

Two roasted spatchcocked ducks, root veggies and broccoli roasted in duck fat, Vincent Price’s Wayside Stuffing, and mashed potatoes and gravy.

Happy Thanksgiving.

COLOR TASTE TEXTURE is in hundreds of libraries all over the world.

Openly autistic written books published by one of the”bigs” for a largely neurodivergent audience is rare. When books like mine are pirated, it’s sending publishers the message we aren’t worth publishing.

In this 4-part WCK Stories of Hope series, join Belal—one of our local team members—as he reflects on his evacuation from North Gaza. His experience mirrors those of countless families across Gaza, shaped by displacement, resilience & the search for moments of joy & peace amid crisis. #ChefsForGaza

The perfect gift for family and friends.😀💜

🎁 For this holiday season, consider gifting COLOR TASTE TEXTURE! It’s a great primer for people of all ages with little to no experience cooking. If you have some neurodivergent friends and family, or parents of littles, they might love this! It’s not just a cookbook, it’s a new approach to food. 🎁
I’m an Autistic classically trained chef and I wrote a food aversion acceptance cookbook and guide titled COLOR TASTE TEXTURE, that’s all about finding out what works for specific sensory needs and how to customize food for them. It’s useful for all ages, no cooking experience necessary.

I was homeless and living in a shelter in 2019. I started writing and pitching stories from my shelter bunk. Was diagnosed Autistic and came up with the idea for COLOR TASTE TEXTURE. Had literary agents and my first Big5 publishing deal within 2 years from being homeless.

Thank you for writing it! In addition to the specifics, it helped our whole family learn to approach the issue without shame and frustration.

In response to the Aotearoa/NZ government’s racist attempts to smash down Māori and Te Tiriti o Waitangi, our high school is doubling down, creating and new Te Ao Māori program for next year and encouraging more te Reo. 💜
I’ve ordered this fantastic book by Keri Opai for our library.

Wow. I’ve just read the most powerfully coming-out piece by a student. It was heartbreaking, but also filled with strength and family support.
This student is a hugely talented writer, and it’s a privilege to see them begin to recognise that.
