A large swath of us grew up seeing how raggedy Oscar was to Suzie. She had to work two jobs to support them, while all he did was drink, gamble, and disrespect her. We saw firsthand how he made her life awful, and how her refusal to address his shortcomings sidelined HER ambition.

Being ready means that I've seen to the mundane things related to preparing for winter and can turn my attention to inner work. I don't have any formal ritual traditions until the solstice, but do more journaling, trance & shadow work from Nov-Feb. Much more interior practices than anything.
