Forgot that i needed to make an anti-titan weapon for deadzone so i quickly threw this together, meet the Pan Dynamics ITA-13 Phoenix Micromissile launcher based on the Horizon Armory Modular Weapons Platform

Other than the movement systems and the match system there sure isn't that much legacy code left in deadzone 😕

Need to finish off the refactor of the registry system then I can hopefully get around to animations, textures and sounds 🙃

guess who just spent 4 hours refactoring the asset loading system to fix performance issues just to discover that the performance issue was due to a NoiseTexture3D that was 128*128*256 for a shield!

let the lesson be that you shouldn't have large ass noise textures in #godot.

frame times have been spiking up to 1120ms when titans were dropped, had no idea why and this was a new issue.

poked around in the debugger and found out that titan instantiation was taking over 700ms to complete due to the amount of assets being loaded and added into the scene tree.

been refining the animations and posing for wendigo and even made an embark animation!

i still need to figure out frame drops :(
