Okay so Warhammer 40k, but instead of being treated like holy figures, the space marines and primarchs are treated the way Americans treat professional athletes. It's similiar, but fans show up to the battlefield wearing things like "Salamanders" jerseys. And there's Genetically Engineered Mascots.
