Interesting tidbit: The peak monthly energy imbalance in this data set occurred in July 2023. That happens to be the warmest month globally we've ever experienced (since modern record-keeping began), at 16.953°C (according to ECMWF ERA5).

New coal leases in the Powder River Basin have been paused after the first one had only a bid for 1/10th of a penny. They are trying to blame previous administrations, but the writing is on the wall. We should be supporting coal workers and communities not doing wtf this clown show is doing.

A bit anti-climactic, but we finally got the termination notice for our Department of Energy, Solar Energy Technology Office grant.
