Infosec somehow. Formerly SD, NYC, LA, SF. Currently PDX. Won a pie eating contest once. Well marbled. God's favorite. He/him.
When Democrats control congress they can't get anything done because of the gosh darn disruptive and duplicitous Republicans, but when Republicans control congress the Democrats are just poor widdle babies who can't possibly affect anything because they're not in control. πŸ₯ΊπŸ‘‰πŸ‘ˆ
I know people believe that the Democrats are in the minority and can't do anything. I would encourage you to read about how, in fact, minority parties can be disruptive. If they want to be. You don't even have to read. You can just see how the Republicans acted during the Obama years.

Crypto democratizes finance, allowing anyone to participate with no barrier to entry while somehow also needing hundreds of millions of dollars of investment from VCs to keep it afloat even though plenty of traditional indie games are successful on shoestring budgets with a handful of developers.

Don't know who needs to hear this, but they sell yeast. You can just buy a bunch and keep it in the freezer and use it to make good reliable bread. You don't have to feed a perpetually rotting pile of goo daily to make bread.

Nothing says "I don't give a shit" more than just wrapping an unopened Amazon box and putting it under the tree. Just the bare minimum amount of effort displayed on TikTok on Christmas.

I go deeply non traditional with it. I've only done the onion gravy a couple of times. I mostly just go maple syrup to further reinforce the pancake and sausage breakfast thing. (Blasphemy, I know. Consider it payback for "Mexican week" on GBBO.)

That's the traditional Xmas breakfast I make. Went out of my way to get some locally made bangers here so we'll see if they're decent.

Is getting DoorDash 3x in a day one of the criteria for depression in the DSM V? Probably should be.

There's even a way to tell based on the tag (bottom right corner), but I always forget in the moment.

Happy CVSS 10.0 day to all who celebrate.

Just realized Barbarella has the same plot as Apocalypse Now.

Right now someone who signed up to bring pumpkin pie to Friendsgiving is preparing to make some keto abomination which they will further ruin by cutting the agave syrup by 2/3. They will be silently disinvited from all future Friendsgivings.

Honestly the thing I looked forward to most when I became an adult.

My house came with an electronic air cleaner instead of a traditional filter on the furnace. Based on my research it uses electricity, is worse at actually filtering air and requires monthly maintenance but on the bright side it sounds like God's own bug zapper every time the blower kicks on.

This eggnog tastes like I should buy another guitar.

Midwestern "salads" excluded, of course.

I don't know who needs to hear this but nobody wants a salad at Thanksgiving.

What if they made a cyberpunk movie that is good?

We’ve made adding things to your calendar easy! Download this file. You can’t import it to your calendar, but you can see what it would look like if you could. From there, you can open it in every app except the calendar. (I pause to give a soft, easy chuckle.) Anyway, it really is so, so simple!

Here I am, thinking I bought a nice house in a good neighborhood when suddenly one of my neighbors gets a CyberTruck. Ugh.

This. I'm tired of pretending that we're one Get Out The Vote campaign from flipping any given state when most of the white voters are incorrigible shitbags who vote to harm others even/especially while harming themselves. I grew up in a red part of California and it's fucking grim.
there’s some truth in this, but the gap between deep red and blue states isn’t explained by voter suppression alone. the white populations in deep red states vote republican at very high rates. both things are load-bearing.
I understand why a lot of white liberals are like, fuck the south, because they think about the people in power who are mostly white conservatives. But that is only because of Jim Crow, voter suppression, a lack of real funding for Dems there

"Loanword" is a calque and "calque" is a loanword.

I think the thing I like about Alexander SkarsgΓ₯rd as an actor is that for a 6'4" viking he plays characters who should be like 5'2" really well. Just a little guy.

As a boomer I don’t know why they’re having this β€œBad Bunnyβ€œ fellow play the Super Bowl and not a good band like the guys who play Mustang Sally 4 times a night at Putter’s Sports Bar every Saturday.

Thrilled about the judge's ruling regarding ANY NG in Oregon. Dreading the inevitable 9th circuit stays and the 6-3 Supreme Court decision. But tonight a win is a win.
