Not tested the app, but on the website, changing WIND SPEED UNITS to "Metres per second (m/s) or km/h" (via the cog icon at the top of the screen) still has no effect on display of wind gust speeds - they remain in mph.

Also, inconsistent use of 12h/24h times. Why has 12h clock been introduced?

Main issues for me: No hourly wind gusts in main table. No option to change units, e.g. metric units for wind speed. In detailed sections and maps: no momentum scrolling or overscroll bounce effect, and scrolling only works if you swipe on icons or text.

Today marks the 200th anniversary of the end of the traditional ale pint 🍺.

Imperial measures led to a reduction in the size of a #pint of #beer, from about 578 ml to about 568 ml.

"The public will not be forced to buy a 568ml beverage at the bar or from their local corner shop."

Good to hear that no one will be "forced to buy" anything if they go into a bar. Bottled beer is sold in #metric of course.

I’m truly disappointed with #M&S. After years of displaying sizes in both imperialist and metric units, the company has reverted to displaying only imperialist.

A switch to #metric speed limits would allow all speed limits to be reviewed at no extra cost.

Should the national speed limit be increased?

It's 60 years today since the national speed limit on motorways was set to 70mph.

Cars are arguably safer, and our motorways are much more advanced.

But would you want to see the speed limit on motorways increased?

A bad day at the office for U.N.I.T.'s science team?

• They mistake a latitude of "0.1667° S" as being NORTH of the Equator.
• They've seemingly never heard of METRES.
• The scales on their dual-unit pressure meter don't align.

Goddammit people, the metric system is right there.

This article reads like the author very recently wrote an article about a small species of rhino and couldn't believe their luck.

Can we have an option for wind speed in standard metric units please (metres per second and km/h).

FUN FACT: The Met Office officially adopted metres per second for wind speed (along with mm for rainfall, and millibars for surface air pressure) on 1 May 1914.
