Elon bought Twitter because it had become a remarkably effective place for the left to communicate and change the public narrative.
And he wanted to shut that down.

The handwringing lectures about how the left has no choice but to stay on Twitter are even more ridiculous when you remember that the far right used a series of alternative media — from direct mail to talk radio to Fox News to Breitbart to Gab, Parler and Truth Social — as their path to victory.
