Just trying to figure it out.
Yes but let's admit that "memebrane" is actually a pretty good term for our collective, social media-addled consciousness though.
there might be something to “bad grammar is a power dynamic thing” but i’m sorry it’s not the whole story lol this guy was an idiot who pulled this shit in emails to himself that are, on the substance, absolute nonsense

"skin as part of brain?"

This is that great intellect people talk about?

This is so odd. Why would you dump money into one software company when all of the tens of AI software companies depend on the hardware companies that number in the single digits?

Maybe they are betting on OpenAI getting that too-big-to-fail taxpayer-funded bailout?
is that good
Japanese giant SoftBank said Tuesday it has sold its entire stake in tech giant Nvidia for $5.83 billion.

“We looked him in the eye. We did a warrior’s handshake. We drank mead from the same chalice. I know I can trust this man to grant a vote that we can’t possibly win so that we can blame progressives for our failures. I believe in John Thune.”
do these people not realize how goddamn fucking stupid they sound. oh you looked him in the eyes? did you kiss? did you make out a little? for fuck's sake.

@govtrack.us does a massive public service with a tiny team, they deserve more support. I ordered a blue tee!
T-shirts! Totes! We've got some merch!

We haven't bought any yet so we don't know if any of it looks good on a human. When our team tries some of this out we'll let you know.

If you promise to wear it around other people & report back how it looks we might give you a link to a free purchase.

Vital piece of investigative reporting from Sky. They've uncovered the X algorithm which feeds users extremist right wing material from the moment they join the site. It is a far-right radicalisation engine, by design.

I understand the argument here, but it is a bit misleading. Inflation is a measure of reduced purchasing power of *goods and services*, while interest rates reduce purchasing power of *debt*.

(Would be curious what a real economist, maybe @justinwolfers.bsky.social thinks of this)
When the Federal Reserve jacks up mortgage rates, credit card rates & auto loan rates on millions of Americans, the federal government doesn't count that inflation as inflation. It effectively pretends that those price increases aren't price increases.

I think it’s worth noting this piece generated the most unsubscribes I’ve seen in a while, and the newsletter version had the lowest open rate in many months. These horrors persist in part because too many people go to great pains to avoid them.

1. Trump says that the letter to Epstein is fake because the letter is "not the way I talk."

Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said the letter is "not at all how he speaks or writes."

JD Vance said the same thing.

Does the letter sound like Trump?

I investigated.
Does Trump's alleged letter to Epstein "sound like" Trump? An investigation.
On Thursday, the Wall Street Journal published a bombshell report about President Trump's relationship with convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

The truest statement on parenting.

One of the other things they don't tell you is: how many duplicate items you buy. Changing pads? One in every room and vehicle. Hand sanitizer? 50+ bottles. Weighted straw cups? By the pallet.
among the many things they don’t tell you about having kids is the amount of money you will shell out to buy various berries

I don’t believe it’s different. Either by fact (there’s nothing in the files and DT is just paranoid) or by malice (his goons in the FBI will destroy evidence). But this is a clear-eyed take on the situation.

We all know what has to come next: The Colbert Report Returns (aka The Return of the King)
colbert is a profoundly gifted guy and i predict — quote me on this — that his best act is yet to come. but the fact that CBS is torching this institution and all the jobs that go along with it to keep donald trump happy is pathetic.

This administration’s reactionary attitude is creating extreme risk for American technical leadership in compute, energy, and manufacturing in the future.
Most of corporate America and Wall Street is too brainless/brainwashed to realize this, but every LLM built to these specifications will irreparably broken. There's no way to guaranteed an LLM will spit out right-wing propaganda without extreme corpus data pruning and/or model overtraining.
