A lot has happened this year. If you'd like a recap of what's happened to education research and statistics, here's my attempt. This might be a good one to listen to on your commute today. (Audio play button below headline. 16 minutes long.) hechingerreport.org/proof-points...

I don’t know if anyone else notices or cares, but when I see a presentation in which the speaker uses obviously generated-AI images to illustrate their slides, it makes me immediately less confident in whatever other content they’re presenting.

There’s a lot of vibe degradation too (duh). Position your attention wisely.

On that note, I do not believe that most ADHD-centric mood board vibe accounts are doing good work. I think they’re working against us.

Throwing this out there because I would like the masses to have the frameworks.

Very good things are happening on Instagram. Bad things too, I’m sure. Other places too, I’m sure.

But they’re seizing the means on Zuck’s own algos.

The youths are doing populism in ways you probably don’t even know about yet and you’re gonna know.

Mamdani going so hard for trans right and winning is some juicy proof that every dem that abandoned us didn’t do it for politically advantageous reasons. They did it because they’re transphobes and they will lose for it

Teen Vogue eliminated all their Black and trans staff today.

It's resegregation in real time.
today’s information came out piecemeal, and people should be able to share their own situations on their own time, but I could share this much ^ as it is pretty cut and dry on the facts.

Teen Vogue also no longer has any trans staffers as of today.

This is a piece of the Mamdani campaign that I think is really underdiscussed—that in a moment of terror and despair, his premise is that standing up against fascism can be joyous.

worth applying to politics as well. when you're criticizing an action people take "taking the better action next time" is only one of the alternatives people will consider, and worth remembering that "not bothering at all" is another.
I think about this a lot.
