Expensive materials will not only not make you a good artist, but if you haven't developed your confidence (or at least a "fuck it, yolo" attitude) you will be too scared of "wasting" your good materials to actually use them and you will never get better.

I grew up with the Arcade version of Battletoads (the local pizza place next to my childhood home had a cabinet) so playing the NES Battletoads feels weird because it keeps interrupting the fun part with random bullshit and I'd wish it'd stop doing that.
