Today, after months of requests, I toured the Broadview ICE Processing Facility. I want to share what I saw.

The facility has no food vendor, no medical care, and detainees have to use toilets in the middle of shared cells. These are in no way suitable conditions to be holding anyone — period.

I am quite confident that to the sadistic sadists who are our current senior federal officials, this is a hoped-for feature, the exact opposite of a bug.

ADX is inhuman and inhumane. As the article notes, even former wardens call it “worse than death.”

I have been saying I wanted to write about this, so I am glad that I was able to just spend two solid days working on this story, basically without interruption. I haven’t had much of that since January, but it’s important, and I hope folks who appreciate it subscribe if they don’t already!
