i agree with this except one caveat: being non-white and undeserving of your success is the worst image you can have.

If you're Pete Hegseth, then attaining power undeservingly is your birthright, even if you're a white nationalist meathead who never washes his hands.

Because even the left uses "affirmative action" as an insult against conservatives, white women, or groups they don't like. In America, being undeserving of your success is the worst image you can have.

Diversity was a workaround against saying "we gave minorities special help."
